About Us

The Movement Experience is a privately owned physical therapy clinic that offers
one on one skilled physical therapy interventions and recovery treatments. Every session is
expertly designed for your individual needs by a doctor of physical therapy. Our team is
dedicated and committed to your full recovery and return to your most active life.

Our Services

Injury Recovery

The Movement Experience physical therapy treatment plans provide comprehensive and evidenced based physical therapy to our patients with acute and subacute injury and to correct any dysfunctional movement patterns that have developed while injured. We will perform a comprehensive evaluation to diagnose and understand your pain, create and implement a plan specifically designed with your needs and wants in mind, and provide you with the tools to prevent your pain from returning to ensure you resume a pain free and active lifestyle.

Injury Prevention

The Movement Experience provides movement and performance based assessments by a doctor of physical therapy. Each assessment is tailored to your individual needs, wants, and goals to help reduce injury, re-injury, and aches and pains with activity to allow you to perform at your highest level.

Post-Op Recovery

The doctors of physical therapy at The Movement Experience will work with your surgeon to assist you in a safe recovery. Post-surgically our therapists will conduct an in-depth examination and evaluation that will allow them to create an individualized, evidenced based, and step by step protocol to ensure the best outcomes, achievement of your personal goals, and return to your active lifestyle.

Sport Performance

At the Movement Experience, our doctors of physical therapy are equipped to lead you from injury recovery to sports performance. Our therapist will prepare you, our athlete, to reach your full athletic potential by combining our knowledge of injury recovery, injury prevention, strength and conditioning, and sport specific training. Whether you are looking to improve sports performance, or general health and wellness, we can help you achieve your goals.

Pre and Postpartum Therapies

At The Movement Experience our founder, Dr. Alexa Preyer, is trained in orthopedic pelvic floor physical therapy. This specialization was the key for her pre and post pregnancy journey and may be for you as well. The pelvic floor muscles play an integral role in core stabilization and can strongly influence running, jumping, and weightlifting activities. Dr. Alexa will perform a comprehensive evaluation in order to guide an individualized treatment plan that includes restoring your optimal breath pattern, postural awareness, mobility and strength to assist you in achieving your fitness goals.

The Movement Stretch Therapy

At The Movement Experience, our doctors of physical therapy will perform a comprehensive assessment to determine the presence of any mobility and/or flexibility restrictions. They will use this information to develop a stretch therapy program that is specific to you and your goals.

Compression Boot Recovery

Normatec compression therapy is a leading tool for performance recovery in professional and recreational athletes. The intermittent pneumatic compression helps to improve muscle tissue oxygenation, circulation, and lactic acid clearance to improve recovery times. The Movement Experience compression boot recovery sessions allow you to rest, relax, and recover completely so you can live actively.

Dry Needling

The Movement Experience doctors of physical therapy are certified in dry needling. Dry needling is a passive rehabilitation tool that can help improve tissue tightness, pain response, and provide pain reduction by inserting thin monofilament needles (acupuncture needles) into painful and/or restricted tissues. Our therapists often utilize dry needling as an adjunct to our individual physical therapy treatments in order to assist in tissue healing and recovery.

The Movement Membership

Our Movement Membership is a unique, doctor-designed strength and conditioning program crafted to help you build a resilient body. Rooted in physical therapy principles, the program emphasizes functional strength, joint stability, and improved mobility, ensuring a balanced approach to fitness. Each TME Functional Strength session is tailored to meet your body’s needs, helping you reach your goals safely and effectively. Whether you’re new to exercise, returning after injury, or simply aiming to move better, our Movement Membership empowers you to live, play, and perform at your best.
